Erection

As soon as the goods are delivered on site, the crew starts the tank erection.

All Apro Industrie erectors are fully trained and are made sensitive to Health & Safety issues. They are wearing on site the required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E) such as: high visible vest, helmet, foot, ear and eye protections,….

Tank erection is usually made using a set of hydraulic jacks which allows the crew to work at ground level in good and safe conditions.

Erection using jacks

The tank erection procedure with jacks consists in erecting the top ring first followed by the roof and then the other rings are added until the required height of tank is obtained.

Step by Step:

• The top ring is erected on the ground.
• The roof structure is bolted to the top ring and the roof sheets positioned and fixed on to it..
• The hydraulic jacks are placed all around the tank periphery, generally one every two sheets.
• The top ring and roof are lifted until it gives enough room for another ring to be set up.
• The next ring is set up.
• All rings are set up successively until the tank shell is completed.
• The tank connections and ancillaries are installed on the shell little by little at the different required height.
• The tank is finally clamped down into the concrete base using mechanical anchor bolts.

The watertightness:

• When the tank watertightness is made with a liner, the liner is hanged up at the top horizontal seam of bolts and then unfolded little by little at the same time the shell goes up.
• When the tank watertightness is done with mastic, the sealant is applied between the raw of bolts prior to the sheets are bolted together.

When the use of hydraulic jacks is not possible, the erection of the tanks can be done using scaffoldings with lifting davit.

Erection using scaffoldings

The tank erection procedure with scaffoldings consists in erecting the bottom ring first followed by above rings and finished by the roof.

Step by Step:

• The bottom ring is assembled and clamped down the concrete base using mechanical anchor bolts
• An inner and outer scaffold with lifting davit is erected
• The following rings are successively added until the required tank height is obtained
• The roof structure is bolted to the last top ring and the roof sheets positioned and fixed on to it.

The watertightness:

• When the tank watertightness is made with liner, the liner is hanged up at the top horizontal seam of bolts once the shell and the roof are completed.
• When the tank watertightness is done with mastic, the sealant is applied between the raw of bolts prior to the sheets are bolted together.
